As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History in Sioux Falls, SD strives to fulfill four major objectives: Education, Conservation, Recreation and Discovery.
The Great Plains Zoo features over 1,000 animals from around the world. Our 45-acre park offers up-close views of animals often not found in larger zoos, including giraffes, tigers, rhinos and a jumping, hooting array of primates. Watch the playful tiger cubs at the Asian Cat exhibit. Visit mom, dad, and baby rhino at the new “Rare Rhinos of Africa” exhibit. Feed a goat, ride a camel, or get a kiss from a sheep with six horns in the Hy-Vee Face-to-Face Farm.
The Zoo also includes the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, a one-in-the-world collection of 150 mounted animals including 36 “vanishing species.”

ZooCub Classes - For kids ages 15 months - 6 years | Posted: 01/23/12
We’re excited about the ZooCub classes we’re offering on Saturday, Jan. 28! The ZooCub program includes a series of classes which are broken down into three age groups: 15 months-2 year-olds; 3-4 year-olds, and 5-6 year-olds.
Each ZooCub class is customized, but all include crafts, stories, live animal encounters and tours of the Zoo.

In honor of our Dino-Roars! exhibit, we’re offering special Dino Memberships.
For $22, Zoo members can purchase a four-month Dino Membership. This allows two adults and up to six kids ages 3-18 unlimited admission to the Dino-Roars! exhibit until it closes in April. For a family of four, this membership pays for itself in fewer than two visits!
For $44, non-members can purchase a Dino-Plus Membership. This membership allows two adults and up to six kids ages 3-18 unlimited admission to the Dino-Roars! exhibit, and the Zoo and Museum through April 2012! With this membership, you’ll enjoy member perks like discounts in the Zootopia Gift Shop, savings on special events and education activities, and reciprocity at 150 other Zoos and Aquariums in North America.

Dino-Roars! Exhibit Now Open | Posted: 01/16/12
The Great Room of the Delbridge Museum of Natural History has been transformed into a jungle where 19 lifelike dinosaurs come to life to “roar” and swish their tails. You’ll see the Apatosaurus family grazing, the Maiasaura watching over her nest, and the ferocious Albertosaurus on the hunt.
Admission to the Dino-Roars! exhibit is $3 per person, plus Zoo admission. Kids 2 and under are free.
