1. Adult Interpretive Volunteers
Adult Interpretive Volunteers share information with guests about the Zoo’s exhibits and programs which enhances the guest experience. Positions covered by this volunteer level include:
- Education Department
- Discovery Cart Attendants
- Puppet Show Performers
- Animal Handling Team
- Tour Guides
- Train Assistants
- ZooMobile Assistants
- Visitor Services
- Lobby Greeters
- Gift Shop Attendants
2. Program Support Volunteers
Program Support Volunteers provide various services geared towards the staff and the programs they oversee. Positions covered by this volunteer level include:
- Office Support
- Assist with mailings, filing and data entry
- Switchboard Operator
- Library Assistant
- Animal Care & Horticulture
- Animal Enrichment Team
- Horticulture Assistants
3. Event Volunteers
Event Volunteers assist with the GPZDM’s special events and fundraisers. Event volunteer opportunities vary throughout the year and offer a greater flexibility in the area of volunteer commitment. Ideal for those looking for a one-time commitment, or those looking to coordinate a civic group, work unit, sorority/fraternity, or other group volunteer project.
