Press Release: Special ZooCamp at the Zoo
Resources
The Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History is holding a special ZooCamp on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 21. ZooCamp is perfect for children who are interested in animals or enjoy visiting the zoo. This camp’s focus is “Hide & Seek” – children will learn about why animals look the way they do and how their patterns and colors help them in the wild.
ZooCampers will meet the animals on exhibit in the zoo and museum and get face-to-face with a variety of live educational animals. Children will also enjoy story time, animal games, a craft and a snack. They’ll even get to help create enrichment items for some of our zoo animals! Winter dress is required, as campers will get an in-depth tour of the zoo, snow or shine.
This special ZooCamp is for children ages four to 1st Grade. There is a $15 fee for members and a $20 fee for non-members. Two sessions are available to choose from: 9am-noon and 1-4pm. Registrations can be downloaded at www.gpzoo.org or picked up at the admission desk – no phone registrations will be allowed.
To learn more about events, activities and programs at the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum, check out our website at www.gpzoo.org or call 605-367-7059. The Zoo & Museum is now in winter hours, with admission from 10am to 4pm daily and grounds clearing at 5pm. This is a great time to see the zoo’s animals enjoying winter and explore the fascinating Delbridge Museum!
